November 3rd post “Walking the Talk”
Voters! Please elect candidates that walk the talk. I am proud of my use of time serving this community. Because I am retired I can focus my full attention on the people of Arcadia, their concerns and the issues that affect their lives. I have made the choice to spend my time in office connecting with and serving our community rather than drawing attention to myself to forward my campaign.
Actions speak louder than words. I don’t make outlandish promises of public services for which there is no sustainable funding source. I am tenacious that finances we allocate need to have “value added” to the lives of our residents and we need to deal with immediate issues but also responsibly prepare for our future.
I recently shared my last week’s schedule including meetings with AUSD School Board, honoring Veterans and investigating Veteran housing solutions, two homeless out reaches, two tutoring music sessions at First Ave., Downtown Arcadia celebration, Chinese Community Health Fair, Arcadia Chinese Association Halloween Fundraiser, Senior Boo Bash, Arcadia Council PTA, Anti Asian Hate Roundtable, and City Council Meeting. But the most important meetings are the individual moments where we listen to our residents and let them know that the City cares about them.
All of this is to say that connection takes time and commitment to people. I am privileged to serve in this way and hope to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
Sincerely,
Michael Danielson
